The Budget and Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the accounting and financial reporting for the Student Health Centers (SHC) operational, endowment, investments/gifts, and other accounting functions and is part of the SHCs Financial Operations team. The incumbent is responsible for: 1) accurate and timely financial reporting for 18 programs, and various grant and endowment funds 2) accurate and timely monthly financial projections, 3) maintaining proper internal controls for related functions, 4) timely, reliable financial and management reporting, 5) compliance with regulatory reporting requirements, 6) responsible for providing analytical data in support of the annual budget preparations 7) dedicated supervision and training for Budget and Accounting staff and 8) serving as accounting subject matter expert for complex related financial matters. Provide professional general accounting services and support to SHCs senior management team, and clinical and administrative staff.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business/ Accounting or related field.
Required Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience with demonstrated progressive accounting experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a thorough knowledge of accounting best practices.
Preferred Experience: 5+ years of fiscal responsibilities in an ambulatory healthcare environment.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent data management skill and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.). Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to influence and advocate when appropriate. Excellent interpersonal, analytical, problem solving and conflict resolution skills. Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality customer service including responsive and timely follow ups, as well as problem solving complex issues and evaluating alternative solutions.
