DigitalCommunications Specialist - Georgetown University's Office of the President
The DigitalCommunications Specialist (DCS) will be responsible for maintaining the President's website, social media, and other digital properties. This role is critical to the mission of the University in enabling the President and Office of the President to communicate with internal and external constituencies. Their duties include, but are not limited to:
Contribute to multimedia projects, working with graphic designers, photographers, videographers, writers, and other colleagues.
Responsible for general communications tasks, including designing and sending broadcast emails and e-communications, drafting video scripts, talking points, and news stories.
Manage an archive of videos, photos and other content for use in digital and print storytelling.
Member of a cross-functional writing team and may assist with various communication tasks and projects, including projects related to presidential correspondence and speechwriting.
They will be required to work flexible hours and respond in a timely and professional manner to requests and assigned tasks.
Minimum bachelor's degree and three years of relevant professional experience.
Must have demonstrated experience in web design and social media.
Proficiency in WordPress and Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube and other social media channels, with 1-2 years of demonstrated professional experience.
Interest in higher education and digital communications trends and best practices is strongly suggested. Must have strong writing skills.
Must be able to work independently and also be able to collaborate with team members and external stakeholders.
Takes initiative to advance assigned areas of work.
The strongest candidates can manage multiple projects, produce accurate work, meet deadlines.
