Provides leadership for the advanced manufacturing research arm of the Excellence Training Center (ETC). Leads and coordinates collaborative research efforts. Promotes research activities focused on advanced manufacturing techniques that support industry and partner's needs. Identifies workforce development programs that support manufacturing efforts; integrates research activities across multiple platforms. Works with internal and external partners in promotion of commercialization activities.
Master's Degree in an appropriate engineering discipline and a minimum of three years’ experience in industry related research. Demonstrated experience in advanced manufacturing techniques, specifically additive manufacturing. Demonstrated experience in obtaining and managing external grant funds in support of advanced manufacturing research and Workforce Development. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated leadership experience.
PhD in an appropriate engineering discipline and knowledge of manufacturing processes, including additive manufacturing. Familiarity with manufacturing activities within the Mahoning Valley. Understanding of unique challenges associated with operation of small businesses.
