The Hofstra University Department in Physician Assistant (PA) Studies requests applications from qualified individuals for a full-time faculty position with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2020. The physician assistant program at Hofstra University is a fully accredited masterâ€™s degree program. This is a full-time (12-month) faculty appointment. The position is subject to financial availability.
â€¢Provides dual-degree, didactic year, and/or research semester instruction. â€¢Instructs and assesses students in team-taught courses. â€¢Is responsible for the coordination of selected courses. â€¢Co-monitors and assures dual-degree students are meeting progression requirements â€¢Co-coordinates dual-degree academic standing committee meetings, participates in dual-degree academic standing committee meetings, and documents meetings. â€¢Counselâ€™s students during the three years prior to the professional phase, including formally meeting with students at risk for not meeting standards and those on academic probation. â€¢Participate in program committees and meetings. â€¢Develop scholarly projects. â€¢Participates in faculty development and in PAEA. â€¢Participate in University-wide and community admissions events and other activities as required. â€¢Participates in the evaluation and selection of applicants as a member of the programâ€™s Admission Committee. â€¢Serves as a faculty advisor for students. â€¢Participate in curriculum development and evaluation, student evaluation, and evaluation of the program. â€¢Assuring availability of remediation. â€¢Participates in mission statement review and revision. â€¢Participate in the duties necessary for program maintenance of accreditation.
