RESEARCH SCIENTIST , Institute for Soldier Nanotechnologies-Wearable Technologies in the Multi-Functional Meta-Materials Research Group , to lead experimental efforts in fabrication and characterization of novel types of composite fibers and textiles, primarily focusing on a research project on "Thermal management of fibers and films: smart textile platforms for heating, cooling, and signature," in collaboration with the U.S. Army CCDC Soldier Center in Natick, MA.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : at least two years' postdoctoral experience in optical and/or mechanical engineering, chemical engineering or materials engineering; excellent communication skills; and accomplishments in optical materials design, fabrication, and characterization. Expertise in thermal transport, organic chemistry, and polymer science and engineering is desirable. Job #18482
Will likely share time between the MIT campus and the U.S. Army CCDC Soldier Center in Natick, MA. U.S. citizen or permanent resident status is required for access at Soldier Center.
This is a one year appointment with the possibility of renewal.
