Applications are invited for a lecturer position in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte starting August, 2020. This is a nine-month appointment, initially for a three-year term, with the possibility of renewal.
Duties involve teaching four mathematics/statistics courses each semester together with some service responsibilities. Service activities may include student advising, support for departmental curriculum/pedagogy development and serving on department and university committees. Required qualifications include a master's degree or equivalent in mathematics or statistics. Preferred qualifications include a doctoral degree in mathematics or statistics, teaching experience at the college level, the capability of teaching large classes, the ability to teach upper level mathematics/statistics classes for math majors, and experience in curriculum/pedagogy development.
Minimum Experience / Education:
UNC Charlotte gives primary consideration to the earned masters and/or terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
Candidates with mathematics/statistics education experience in effectively teaching women and minorities, and who have a demonstrated commitment to and experience with teaching a diverse student body are highly preferred and strongly encouraged to apply.
