The primary responsibilities for this position include teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses; building and sustaining an independent cutting-edge and extramurally funded research program; active engagement with students through advising, mentoring, recruitment, and coaching; development of relevant curricula, conducting scholarly activities and all other activities required for a successful academic career.
Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, engaging in accreditation processes, program assessment and service to the department, College and University as needed.

North Carolina A & T State University is a public land grant university. The College of Engineering, with over 2000 students, has EACABET accredited undergraduate programs in Architectural, Bio-, Biological, Civil, Chemical, Computer, Electrical, Industrial, and Mechanical Engineering, as well as a CACABET-accredited program in Computer Science. The Computer Science Department at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University has 11 full-time faculty members, and offers BS, MS and PhD degrees. The department has a current enrollment of 256 undergraduate students, 40 masters and 28 doctoral students. The faculty in the department conduct research in areas such as cyber security, cyber identity, big data, artificial intelligence and machine learning, cloud computing, software engineering, multi-agents and social computing. The department has attracted funding from National Science Foundation, the Department of Defense, the Department of Energy, as well as various industries to support research and education. The department leads the University's Center for Cyber Defense, which is designated as a Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security. The department is also part of the Consortium Enabling Cybersecurity Opportunities and Research, which is a consortium of twelve colleges and universities and a public school system funded by the Nuclear Security Administration.
