The NYU McSilver Institute for Poverty Policy and Research is committed to creating new knowledge about the root causes of poverty, developing evidence-based interventions to address its consequences, and rapidly translating research findings into action through policy and best practices.
We are looking to hire a talented and motivated individual to serve as a full-time Senior Coordinator. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Strategic Operations, and working in collaboration with the Technical Assistance Center (TAC) team, the Senior Coordinator will be primarily responsible for project management, content development, policy analysis, coordinating, facilitating and supporting community technical assistance department. The ideal candidate will have the drive and desire to work and grow with a fast-paced team, have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, strong organizational skills, and is able to work collaboratively with a diverse and high-energy team.
Oversee the coordination, facilitation, and support the development of TAC trainings and learning initiatives;
Coordinate logistics for internal and external meetings and events including scheduling, booking rooms, preparing materials, setting up conference calls, catering, and coordinating travel and accommodations;
Participate with program staff and managers in the design and delivery of statewide cross-organizational learning and training initiatives;
Organize, prepare, schedule and attend designated internal and external TAC coordination meetings on an as-needed basis to strategize, troubleshoot, and provide feedback;
Coordinate and participate in regular status meetings and problem-solving activities with members of various project workgroups on the implementation of TAC initiatives;
Effectively communicate relevant project information and lessons learned to team members;
Support the TAC team and leadership in developing trainings and presentations for clinic/program management on financial planning and best practice clinical interventions;
Remain informed and up-to-date on emerging industry practices, particularly as they relate to clinical and organizational best practices;
Seek and participate in professional development opportunities above and beyond training required by the Technical Assistance Center;
Work closely with the internal Infrastructure Development Team that supports the TAC with the necessary resources and technologies for on-going operational needs;
Responsible for the oversight and implementation of in-person events, webinars, communication tools (e-mails and bulletins), including pulling together reports and data entry;
Provide general administrative support including, but not limited to crafting and editing presentations, oversight of listservs/e-mail lists, maintaining calendars and meeting minutes;
Travel is required;
Perform other duties as assigned.
Master's Degree in psychology, sociology, communications, marketing, public or media relations, or related field;
Highly organized, results-oriented and pays attention to detail;
Ability to creatively find solutions to challenges;
Ability to anticipate, manage and resolve conflicts;
Team player with leadership skills, abilities and desire to interact with people at all levels;
Demonstrated dedication to work effectively with underserved, at-risk, and vulnerable populations;
Ability to work effectively with community partners;
Must be able to travel independently between multiple worksites and events;
Experience coordinating staff, meetings, events, and logistics.
