Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant for the Department Center for Systems and Computational Biology at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
The Khiabanian Lab at Rutgers University is seeking Temporary Research Assistant to join a multidisciplinary research team at the Center for Systems and Computational Biology at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. The research will be focused on cancer genomics and translational medicine, aiming to develop statistical methods to study cancer's clonal evolution and to dissect tumor molecular heterogeneity that enables it to evolve and resist current treatments, especially in hematological malignancies.
The team is located at Rutgers University’s New Brunswick campus, and collaborates extensively with scientists and physicians at Rutgers and other institutions in the New York metropolitan area.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Conducts research experiments to solve problems in cancer genomics.
Develop new ideas of promotion of current research at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey as well as the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at NJMS and RWJMS.
Prepares written reports of the research experiments.
Prepares grant proposals based on the research conducted.
Gives oral presentations of the research
Minimum Education and Experience:
Candidates must have a master's degree with a background in quantitative sciences (physics, mathematics, computational biology, bioinformatics, computer science, or engineering).
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must demonstrate high proficiency in programming and statistical analysis with demonstrated experience in problem solving.
Must demonstrate excellent organizational and communication skills are essential.
Knowledge of genomics and bioinformatics.
