The primary responsibility of the Nursing Tutor will be to provide support for the educational needs of nursing students at Kent State University Twinsburg Academic Center.

This support includes, but is not limited to, assisting students in understanding the concepts taught in the nursing program, improving problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, and refining test-taking skills, as well as assisting other learning needs as identified by students, staff and/or faculty.

1 year teaching or tutoring experience
Associate Degree in Nursing
Strong knowledge of alternative learning methods
Strong interpersonal skills
Solid organizational skills
Excellent written and oral communication
Assess the needs of the learner
Facilitate student’s understanding of course objectives and clarification of key content
tutor students in nursing content as needed (be flexible r/t assessing needs of student group)
Maintain required documentation of tutoring sessions
Establish and build relationships with students, faculty and staff
Lead and facilitate small groups
Demonstrate professional behaviors
Treat all students with respect regardless of background

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
This is a part-time intermittent term position. Planned hours will be based on department need. Must be able to provide routine scheduled hours- up to 8 per week/semester.
(preferred 8 hrs./week- 4hrs./each week to 1st and 2nd yr. students /week/semester)
Must pass a security check.
