This position has the financial operations responsibility for general funds and designated funds. The first year assignment is the Assistant Director of Business Affairs within Student Services. This position ensures funds for all accounts are spent according to guidelines. Manages financial activity related to travel, hospitality, scholarships, IU Foundation, purchasing, and payroll. Develops and documents policy and internal procedures, and provides guidance, direction, and training to staff in all aspects of financial activities. Serves as the expert resource and advises staff on financial aspects including payroll, travel, hospitality, and procurement.
Bachelor's degree in an accounting or business related field and three years of experience in a financial management position.

Ability to work well in a high-stress environment and respond to last minute requests. Strong organization skills. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a diverse group of people. Strong computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook).
Knowledge of IU policies, procedures, and systems, including HRMS, FIS, EPIC, TIME, TRAVEL@IU, and IU Foundation systems.
Working Conditions / Demands
Using a computer. Long periods of stationary work. Some lifting when stocking and/or retrieving inventory up to 10 pounds. Attending meetings anywhere on campus. Extensive computer use that creates visual strain. Ability to concentrate and focus in an environment of continuous interruptions.
