Elon University, a leading institution in the United States for Global Education, seeks a visionary scholar and leader as Dean of Global Education and Senior International Officer. The ideal candidate will lead the Global Education Center, advance Elon’s substantial global presence and continue to position Elon as a national leader in Global Education. Importantly, the Dean will deepen and assess Elon’s global experiences to expand our students’ intercultural agility and meet the goals of Elon University’s 2030 plan. This integral campus leader will expand and build upon Elon’s global network, liaise with the Admissions Office on international student recruitment, collaborate across the university to support the comprehensive internationalization of the campus and act as steward of the signature GLOBAL Elon brand (see https://www.elon.edu/u/nav-global/).
The next Dean of Global Education will join President Connie Ledoux Book, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Aswani Volety, and the entire community in pursuing goals of Elon’s new 2020-2030 Strategic Plan. The Dean works collaboratively across the institution to promote comprehensive internationalization. The Dean reports to the Provost and serves on the Provost Council, among other university councils and committees in this full-time, 12-month position. The successful candidate will have substantial experience in international education, a commitment to diversity and inclusion, and the relationship-building and communication skills to connect with Elon University’s constituents.

Extensive international education experience with proven record of leadership
PhD or other terminal degree in a relevant discipline or appropriate professional experience
University leadership experience in international education
Experience with supporting international student recruitment operations
Experience in promoting access, diversity, equity, and inclusion in global education
Experience in managing risk in an international setting
Familiarity with US Citizen & Immigration Services and SEVIS
Proficiency in a language other than English and/or experience living abroad
