ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT The Continuing Education (CE) unit of Bellevue College (BC) serves the needs of businesses and industry by providing high-quality, in-demand programs. Classes are taught by industry experts and offered online, in-person, and through corporate training. Additionally, CE offers a wide range of personal enrichment courses to satisfy the needs of life-long learners with courses for teenagers through retirees.
POSITION DUTIES Revenue Generation Identify and target new market opportunities Build and sustain strong customer relationships spanning Executive to Technical levels Create shared mindset with clients; assess needs and create innovative value-added, economically viable solutions Secure and retain business through professional, consultative, and proactive sales activities directed at key decision makers Perform needs assessments to assess customer training and organizational development needs Work with program directors to create winning proposals to address customer needs Responsible to insure all business opportunities meet the financial requirements established by the VP of Economic and Workforce Development and the Executive Director Serve as the primary point of contact for all customer engagements Plan and coordinate all customer sales activities from pre-assessment to post engagement evaluation Success metrics will be established in the following areas: total revenue generate, new clients under contract, multiple products sold to a company, proposals generated, etc. Identify opportunities in the training and development space Perform market research, identify, evaluate and close new business Work with program directors to build and deliver custom training and organizational development solutions Participate in joint Operations/Sales/Program strategy sessions Analyze potential opportunities and develop sales plans for each target account Develop in-depth knowledge of the customer's organization Develop and implement sales plan Develop annual sales plan for input into the annual business plan Work with Vice President, Executive Director, Program Directors, Operations and Marketing personnel to develop a multi-year sales strategy to support strategic and tactical initiatives Provide sales funnel reports Identify resource and budget requirements; Evaluate all possible sales channels and partners Handle follow-up related to the sale and drive completion of contractual documents Maintain high visibility within customer organization and monitor customer satisfaction by regular communication with customer Record all customer sales related activities in CRM (SALESFORCE) system Other Connect sales contacts to other appropriate divisions within the college Recruit companies for cohort training models to include but not be limited to pre-apprenticeships/and or apprenticeships Perform other duties as assigned
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in related field can be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis Thorough knowledge of customer relationship software such as Salesforce Five (5) plus years direct selling experience in consultative selling in a business to business(B2B) environment or an equivalent field Proven track record at mid-level and high-level contacts, target revenue levels in the multi-millions Excellent business and industry awareness, and a thorough understanding of industry trends and impact on the business Effective analytical skills in assessing and interpreting customer business data Demonstrated ability to work creatively in a fast-paced environment, and to maintain demanding timelines Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team player Intermediate to advances skills in using Microsoft Office Suite: MS PowerPoint, MS Word, and MS Excel
POSITION SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS: This position requires someone with experience establishing high-level contacts and relationships, possessing strong communications and consultative selling skills that will enable the development and sale of innovative custom-based solutions for our clients. Further, the role represents an expansion of services by the college and requires someone with experience in hunting for clients by leveraging a variety of approaches to gain appointments.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree or equivalent work experience in related field Ten (10) plus years direct selling experience in consultative selling in a B2B environment Five (5) plus years' experience selling human resources, or training and development consulting and/or training services in a B2B environment
