The Department of Energy Resources Engineering trains future leaders in the science and engineering of Earth's energy resources. The Department is seeking two full-time Administrative Associates, with strong web editing and event coordinating skills, to be part of an administrative team that provides a full range of support to the Department, its faculty and its research programs. Your Responsibilities will include:
Coordinating the logistics of research group events, short courses, Department seminars and annual meetings. Independently handling all event details including selecting and contracting with vendors, securing venues, processing registration payments, creating event materials, providing on-site event support.
Maintaining research group and faculty web sites.
Processing reimbursements, purchasing card transactions, and lab supply orders using Oracle financial applications.
Providing administrative support to faculty, researchers and students.

To be successful in this position, you will need:
High school diploma and four years of administrative experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
Advanced computer skills and demonstrated experience with office software and email applications.
Demonstrated success in following through and completing projects.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and assign work to others.
Ability to take initiative and ownership of projects.
Ability to routinely and independently exercise sound judgment in making decisions.
In addition, our preferred requirements include:
Knowledge of Stanford University systems and policies
Experience planning and coordinating a wide-variety of events
Experience with web site maintenance, preferably using Drupal
