The College of Pharmacy is seeking a Laboratory Technician to work in the lab of Dr. Jill Turner.
The technician will be responsible for maintaining the lab's mouse colony (breeding, weaning, tail snips, genotyping, updating roster). Additionally, this position will assist with routine lab maintenance, including ordering and receiving, tracking lab inventory, and assist with lab training of new personnel (technical and safety).
The technician will team with lab members for animal studies, including assisting in aseptic technique during surgery, tissue collection, and behavioral assays. The technician will help in animal handling, health monitoring and samples collection.
The technician will be responsible for subsets of experiments utilizing Western blotting, qPCR, and other assays routinely completed in the lab. The technician will also assist other lab members in these assays as needed.
Genotyping, mouse colony maintenance, record keeping, attention to detail, organizational skills, good laboratory practices, dependability.
