Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Advanced Practice Nurse for the Eric B. Chandler Health Center of the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
The Advanced Practice Nurse provides quality and cost effective primary care services to Eric B. Chandler Health Center patient population, meeting their diverse health and social needs.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Functions in an advanced level of nursing practice characterized with complex clinical decision making with ambulatory care outpatients.
Performs comprehensive physical assessments including mental status examination and differential diagnosis.
Orders diagnostic tests and discriminates between normal and abnormal findings and makes appropriate treatment decisions.
Prescribes pharmacological treatment for outpatients in the direct management of acute or chronic medical disorders.
Provides direct patient care, including assessing, diagnosing, planning and may direct the patient in non-pharmacological interventions as related to mental health problems, health promotion, and preventative care, including monitoring pharmacological effectiveness, medication side effects, and pain management.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Certified as an Advanced Practice Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
APN Nurse Practitioner license.
At least two (2) years of nursing experience, preferably as an Advanced Practice Nurse.
