Reporting to the Associate Director of Alumni and Parent Engagement, the Assistant Director of Parent Engagement will create and maintain an annual calendar of events and opportunities for Lion families. This position will create key partnerships and plan essential programs and events in the LMU community with the goal to increase participation and financial support from alumni, parents and friends of LMU.
Typically a bachelor's degree in related field is required. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes.
Minimum of 3 years volunteer management, development support and event production experience in progressively responsible positions, preferably in a higher education setting.
Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in the areas of: Modern office practices and procedures; word processing, data base, spreadsheet, electronic mail; office equipment use and maintenance; telephone etiquette; letter and report writing; proofreading; correct English grammar, usage, rhetoric, and spelling.
Perform complex and concurrent secretarial tasks involving independent judgment and requiring speed and accuracy; diplomacy balanced with assertiveness in supervising a diverse staff; maintain confidential information; effective organizational/administrative abilities including proficiency in planning and prioritizing.
Rapid and accurate typing of correspondence, reports, proposals, etc; office equipment maintenance skills including minor repairs and comprehension of technical applications; and basic bookkeeping.
Exemplary communication skills (both written and oral).
Highly developed organizational and leadership skills.
Demonstrated computer competency and preferably knowledgeable of relevant systems.
