The FAS Director of Procurement Operations is the business owner and lead for the Buy2Pay system and the associated modules for the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. The Director oversees a highly decentralized and distributed set of activities related to university procurement and payment processes. In FY19 the FAS spent approximately $200 million on goods and services through the Harvard Crimson Online Market Place, (HCOM), which is being replaced by the Buy2Pay system.
The Director of Procurement Operations serves as the liaison with other procurement professionals at Harvard schools and central administration groups, FAS Leadership, departments and centers for all procurement related initiatives. The Director serves as the FAS representative on all university procure and payment system implementation related committees. This role is responsible for convening stakeholders pre and post project to ensure communication and feedback opportunities are consistently available.

Advanced degree (MBA or MS in Finance or Accounting), CPA and experience working within public accounting and/or not-for-profit industry preferred.
Collaborative work style with excellent consultative skills and ability to build strong work relationships at all levels.
Demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate staff on a day-to-day basis and inspire a high level of commitment and excellent performance.
Experience supervising in a customer service environment preferred.
Knowledge of the monitoring and audit functions relating to compliance with systems of internal control.
Demonstrated experience with financial systems and data query tools.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, advanced excel skills.
Knowledge of advanced financial administration principles.
Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Must be able to tactfully work with unit staff and discreetly handle confidential information.
Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
Strong public speaking skills- presentations to small and large groups and all levels of the organization
Ability to manage multiple challenging projects simultaneously.
