The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at Magee Women's Hospital of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center is seeking a full-time physician for the Division of Obstetrical Specialties, with a focus on research. This is an excellent opportunity for a board-certified OB/GYN with subspecialty experience in research to join in a well-established OB/GYN Department. The OB/Gyn depa rtment is home to an academic obstetrics and gynecology residency program with a total of 40 OB/Gyn residents, as well as subspecialty fellowships in maternal-fetal medicine, urogynecology, reproductive endocrinology and infertility, medical genetics, gynecologic oncology, mi nimally invasive surgery, infectious diseases a nd fami ly planning.
M agee-Womens Research I nstitute (MWRI) is an independent research institute and one of the largest in the nation that focuses on reproductive biology, women's and i nfants' health. Since its inception in 1992, MWRI has been a leader i n funding from the National I nstitute of Health (NIH) and other sources. Opportu nities are avail able to work with members of MWRI on specific research projects. Time to pursue individual research projects is available.
Magee-Women's Hospital of UPMC is the regional referral center for obstetric and gynecologic patients, performing approximately 11,000 deliveries per year, with an active inpatient and outpatient program. UPMC is a nationally ranked medical center that serves as the regional referral center for multiple specialties.
Board certification in obstetrics and gynecology, concentration in research
Academic credentials appropriate for appointment as an assistant professor or associate professor, tenure stream at the University of Pittsburgh
Minimum 5 years of research and teaching in an academic medical center
Established success in research funding
Salary and academic rank is commensurate with experience and qualifications
