The Division of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology in the Department of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh and UPMC are seeking outstanding independent physician-scientists at the associate professor or professor level (tenure-track). The Division of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology includes physician and basic scientists who conduct collaborative research with an emphasis on mechanisms of disease, novel therapies, epidemiology and/or outcomes research in the areas of rheumatoid arthritis, scleroderma, Lupus, myositis, vasculitis or other related autoimmune diseases. The Division provides a collaborative setting for the study of basic mechanisms of immunity and outcomes research that would provide new insights to the treatment of human disease. Primary responsibilities include building a research program, providing Rheumatology inpatient consultation as well as outpatient care, and the teaching of fellows, residents and medical students. There will be opportunities for academic growth, career development and mentorship, with protected time for research activities, depending on applicant interests and accomplishments. Academic appointment is commensurate with professional experience. Tenure track or tenure may be offered based on qualifications. There are opportunities for leadership roles within our division.
