Associate Professor with Tenure Track Position - Pain Research The Pittsburgh Center for Pain Research at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine has emerged as one of the top groups attacking the # 1 public health problem in the US - intractable chronic pain. We also study the equally vexing problems of persistent itch and the epidemic of opioid abuse sweeping the nation. We are a highly collaborative group of world-class investigators that are driven to find cures. Applicants must have a PhD and/or MD degree and have demonstrated excellence in research. Areas of research may include but are not limited to basic and/or translational research focused on the molecular and cellular changes that contribute to the development of chronic pain, analysis of CNS pain circuits, human imaging studies, pain genetics, and fundamental processes underlying pain, itch, or touch. Appointment will be made at the Associate Professor level, commensurate with qualifications. Salary is competitive. The successful applicant will be expected to obtain extramural funding, establish a competitive research program, and participate in graduate education.
