Work performed in planning, developing, organizing, coordinating, directing, and evaluating a wide range of administrative/technical support actions to insure attainment of the Multicultural Center goals and objectives. The position also involves a variety of tasks including:
Receives, directs, screens, and assists visitors and incoming telephone calls;
Coordinating the flow of work and people through the Director's office, follows up with others on projects assigned by Director;
Maintains Director's calendar and schedule, makes appointments and travel arrangements, plans and arranges conferences and special events by ensuring that any necessary rental/reservation and catering arrangements are made;
Serves as liaison for the Director for internal and external contacts;
Provides procedural information, assists in solving problems for students, faculty, staff and the public;
Drafts routine and non-routine correspondence, reports, memos and presentations, reads and reviews incoming mail, processes incoming forms and paperwork, recommends and drafts responses where appropriate, purchase supplies;
Promoting positive public relations in all areas of departmental involvement; providing facilitation and serving as liaison with university faculty, administrators and staff, and outside agencies; and
Maintains office records and performing other related work as required.
