The College of Arts and Science (CAS) is seeking a dedicated Assistant Director of Student Services. This individual will counsel students in all four years of CAS, planning leaves of absences and returns. Coordinate leave and readmission processes with University offices, including the Registrar and Wellness. Supervise Academic Case Manager, coordinating retention efforts for students on leaves of absence. Supervise operations of Dean for Students Office, including two Administrative Aides and graduate student workers. Serve as a resource person for students throughout their time on leave. Provide overview of curriculum, policies and procedures as it relates to leave of absence and readmission. Partner with Advising and the University Learning Center staff to improve retention strategies and promote academic success for students having difficulty. Analyze data received through student inquiries, market research, and input and recommend new programs and courses to meet changing needs. Assist in the implementation of marketing events to recruit students for admissions into College's Programs, including developing information sessions and open houses, and attending university-wide and external events, liaison with faculty and other University personnel, and representing the Dean and the College to internal and external constituencies.
Required Education: Bachelor's degree and
Preferred Education: MA in liberal arts subject strongly preferred
Required Experience: 2-3 years experience in counseling, advising, student services, program development or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Experience: Experiencein an academic environment
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Ability to interpret and communicate policies to individuals at all levels. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
