Under the direction of the Epic Clinical Reporting Manager, the Epic Clinical Reporting Analyst develops and maintains reports and related data extracts from the Epic Clinical Information and Practice Management systems. This position works directly with operational, clinical and academic staff to review report requests, provides status updates, sets expectations, plans and implements products and services to meet user, enterprise reporting and data analysis needs. This individual must be proficient in the use of institutional business intelligence tools and related system data models. This individual must demonstrate a strong customer service focus, team orientation and attention to detail.
Develops reports using Epic's proprietary suite of BI Tools, such as Reporting Workbench and Radar, and additional BI applications, primarily the SAP Business Objects toolset: Crystal Reports, but potentially others such as Tableau and Power BI - 25%
Works proficiently with MS SQL Server, including T-SQL and stored procedures - 25%
Develops, distributes, and provides support for reports in a timely manner, prioritizing multiple requests and maintaining a support relationship with all users - 25%
Analyzes and understands various data models in depth; proactively define data structures additions (views, distribution methods, intermediate tables, multidimensional cube) that would improve performance or add value - 10%
Manages and monitors scheduled execution of routine processes and reports, diagnosing and fixing any report-related issues while maintaining excellent open communication internally and externally - 10%
Other duties as assigned - 5%
Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus four years of related experience.
Four years of related full-time work experience; significant relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
Epic Module Certification (Epic module certification is not required from the outset but must be obtained during the first four to six months of employment). Maintenance of specific module certifications is required and is determined over time by leadership.
Experience in data warehouse development and maintenance.
Excellent decision making, critical thinking, and problem solving skills.
Strong organizational skills with an emphasis on detail, communication, and follow-up.
Experience in clinical or research analytic and regulatory reporting.
Epic report development experience.
