The IU Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology has a distinguished tradition of excellence in patient care and research/education innovation. We are searching for multiple clinical study assistants on our unique ERCP research team within Gastroenterology & Hepatology. We are seeking individuals who thrive in a fast-paced working environment. Clinical Study Assistants are communicative and proactive in the support of clinical research studies. They will build long-lasting, mutually beneficial relationships with the research staff they support.
Under close supervision, the study assistant will support the clinical study or clinical trials from an administrative standpoint. The study assistant will perform routine tasks using standard procedures.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities Include:
* Prepare and organize space for study related equipment and supplies.
* Complete, organize, and file all regulatory documents, including informed consent forms for submission to regulatory agencies.
* Set up and monitor temperature logs for freezers and refrigerated storage areas.
* Make copies, prepare transmittal sheets for mailings, and send out documents and samples.
* Obtain screening information via phone or in person from script template for studies.
* Consenting patients for clinical trials.
* Schedule/call subjects for appointments as directed.
* Extract data from source documents for studies as directed.
High school diploma or GED and completion of Medical Assisting program; OR high school diploma or GED and one year of patient related experience.
Ability to effectively communicate and exchange information with a wide variety of individuals. Excellent interpersonal skills and a customer service orientation. Strong organizational and multitasking skills including the ability to manage multiple priorities.
