University of Iowa Pharmaceuticals (UIP), a division of the College of Pharmacy, is seeking applicants for a full-time Materials Supervisor. UIP is an FDA registered contract manufacturing facility for parenteral and various non-sterile dosage forms. The primary responsibility of this position is managing material inventories and two warehouses supporting these activities. The position will coordinate with project and/or manufacturing managers to ensure the optimization of materials usage by monitoring production schedules, current inventory and stock expiration dates. In addition, this position will be involved in supervising warehouse staff that physically receive, distribute and ship materials from two locations.
Additional duties to include:
* Works with material specification documents to ensure the correct receiving and release specifications are followed. * Enters information into a current database or material management software and generates accompanying supporting documentation. * General oversight of two cGMP receiving docks and warehouses involved with pharmaceutical manufacturing. * Coordinates with project and manufacturing managers to source and order materials for manufacturing operations. * Administratively supervises 3-5 warehouse/receiving dock personnel. * Train staff on applicable SOP's as needed. * The materials supervisor will have responsibility for optimization of raw material and component utilization based on production schedules and stock inventory expiration dates to increase production efficiency and reduce material losses
Salary: $42,038 to commensurate

* Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of experience in warehouse or inventory management. * Minimum 3 years' experience in warehouse or inventory management; or an equivalent combination of experience in a food or drug manufacturing facility. * Previous personnel supervisory experience. * Strong communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills. * Valid U.S. driver's license and the ability to meet and maintain the University of Iowa's Fleet Safety standards is required.
* 5 years or more years demonstrated experience in warehouse or inventory management in the pharmaceutical industry or a related field. * Experience with Food and Drug Administration (FDA) current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). * Experience with inventory management software.
