The Research Coordinator will support the mission of the Program for Pet Health Equity (PPHE) by assisting with the acquisition, implementation, management, and completion of grants. By generally serving as a primary point of contact for project investigators, the Research Coordinator has a high level of visibility. Duties span the range of research activities, including conducting literature searches to enable the development of successful proposals, drafting grant proposals, assisting with the implementation and management of research projects, and developing reports and presentations. Additional duties include meeting support and event planning. The work of the Research Coordinator is under the direction of and supervision of the Assistant Director. The Research Coordinator will help the Assistant Director to effectively manage multi-million-dollar complex projects that involve remote teams in multiple geographic locations. To ensure program sustainability, the Research Coordinator works closely with the Assistant Director in facilitating capacity building, providing strategic program direction, and the required leadership. The Research Coordinator is responsible for remaining aligned with the strategy, commitments, and goals of the PPHE, and contribute to enabling the organization to sustain successful outcomes, as well as to adapt to changing environments. Also, the Research Coordinator is expected to stay informed regarding program/grant administration, award coordination, timelines, and sponsor deadlines.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Research Grant Coordination and Support: *Conduct background research to develop grant proposals. *Draft research grant proposals. *Assist in the management of research projects, including: oCoordination with multiple teams of investigators. oDevelopment of project reports. oEnsuring the objectives and tasks of all projects are met. oPerforming all critical measurements to ensure projects are on course. *Managing the PPHE email account. *Maintaining the PPHE calendar. *Maintaining databases, performing required analyses, preparing reports. *Assist with survey development, distribution, follow up, and reporting. *Maintain quarterly records and reporting of PPHE activities. *Continually broaden expertise in the area of access to veterinary care and serve as a resource person. *Assist in the recruitment of community partners, while maintaining good working relationships. *Identify potential funding opportunities. *Identify presentation opportunities at community, public and professional meetings, conferences and events. *Provide input on PPHE policies and procedures. *Create and monitor timelines with milestones for all PPHE projects. *Works with Assistant Director to build education program.
Marketing and Communications: *Public relations and media messaging with UT Communications and the external media. *Acquiring and archiving publicity related to AlignCare(tm) and other project activities. *Gathering grant materials and preparing grant proposals. *PPHE website design and content. oMake suggestions on the design and content for the AlignCare(tm) and PPHE websites. oWork directly with the website designer to keep the content updated and current. *Social media presence. oDevelop a plan for a social media presence for AlignCare and the PPHE. oMaintain, manage, update, and keep current all social media platforms used for AlignCare and the PPHE. *Keep track of trends and topics by using monitoring applications like Google Alerts, Talkwalker Alerts, Mention, and Meltwater. *Works with College of Social Work to ensure consistent branding of PPHE across all public communication. *Monitors and observes economic, political or competitive events or trends that can impact the organization.
Meeting support: *Schedule meetings. *Draft and distribute meeting summaries and action items. *Sending out meeting reminders. *Obtain and distribute meeting agendas. *Arrange for meeting resources.
Event planning: *Identify the venue and location of PPHE events. *Develop and distribute registration and event information. *Arrange event resources (e.g., catering, video conferencing, etc.).
