The College of Engineering is seeking a Research Program Coordinator. This is a full-time, 1.0 FTE, 12-month, fixed term professional faculty position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Dean.
The Research Program Coordinator provides high-level project management and administration for one or more externally funded research projects, especially for large or complex grants with multiple Principal Investigators (PIs). The successful candidate assists the PIs and research project teams with strategic planning, efficient resource management, and effective operation of all project activities. The Research Program Coordinator takes the lead in establishing project policies, procedures, and grant administration in collaboration with the PIs. They direct the production of required reports and act as a liaison between the PIs and all support services needed for each project, both internal and external to OSU. The Research Program Coordinator works with OSU Business Centers to manage complex budgets and ensure that funding agency requirements are met during the grant as well as during the funding close out phase. They work closely with the PIs while also prioritizing and completing multiple tasks and deadlines with limited support.
Typically requires Master's Degree in field relevant to program focus.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, STEM, or related field, or equivalent combination of experience
Two years of experience providing project management, project coordination, and/or advanced administrative support
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, evaluate, prioritize, manage, and meet deadlines
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions and recommendations which align with policies, and act as a resource to a wide variety of constituents
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and lead within the organization
Ability to work effectively with internal and external partners from a variety of diverse backgrounds
Experience with Microsoft Office suite
