Central Michigan University College of Medicine invites qualified applicants for a faculty physician position at the University-operated medical clinics and Student Health Services. The physician hired for this position will be expected to provide primary care ambulatory services. This is a unique opportunity for a physician to pursue clinical work while contributing to the college's mission focusing on primary care. Successful candidates will also be appointed (20% effort) as the medical director of Student Health Services. Student Health Services also provides limited support services to assist students with emotional and psychological issues or relapses of previous mental health conditions that may be brought on by the transition to college. Psychiatric services are available at Student Health Services through referral from University Health Services physicians and/or CMU Counseling Center counselors. Patients are seen for a variety of health issues including acute and chronic conditions. Student Health also offers preventive services, office-based procedures, and referral coordination for specialized care. Patients are seen by appointment or walk-in basis. Successful candidate will have oversight responsibilities for nurse practitioners and physician assistants on staff. Candidates should also have a demonstrated commitment to diversity by working to develop a culture of inclusion and mutual respect. Faculty appointments at Assistant Professor rank or higher based on credentials and experience.
MD or DO degree. Licensed or eligible for unrestricted licensure in the State of Michigan which includes a residency in a primary care specialty.
