The Office of Arts &Campus Events (ACE) mission is to facilitate and promote diverse programmingfor the Vanderbilt and Nashville Community that cultivates social engagement,cultural enrichment, artistic exploration and intellectual growth. ACE works closely with students, faculty, andstaff from various academic departments and centers to coordinate programs forthe Vanderbilt and Nashville communities with the goal of fostering andsustaining a culturally rich environment that provides participants withopportunities to understand and appreciate the value of art in their lives. TheOffice of Arts & Campus Events (ACE) includes the major arts and social programmingcommittees on Vanderbilt's campus: theVanderbilt Programming Board, Sarratt Art Studios, Sarratt Youth Art Institute,Vanderbilt Dance Program, and the Vanderbilt Performing Arts Council.

Duties and Responsibilities
Plan, evaluate, and revisecurricula, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction tomeet students' needs and aspirations
Explain and demonstrate artistictechniques
Observe and evaluate pupils'work to determine student progress and make suggestions for improvement
Prepare students for exams andassessments
Keep abreast of developmentsin their field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, andparticipating in professional conferences
Ensure classrooms are stockedwith adequate supplies
Profile of an Ideal Candidate
Bachelor's degree in Art orArt Education is necessary
A minimum of 2 years ofexperience teaching creative arts, with the ability to perform and teachlessons in a class setting is necessary
Prior experience inestablishing creative environments in which art is explored, discovered, andobserved both in and out of the classroom is required
Excellent interpersonal skillsand ability to communicate with diverse group of students and staff isnecessary
