Non-Tenure track Faculty at the Assistant or Associate Professor Level for Microbial Pathogenesis and Host Response.
Establishes and manages an independent and productive research program in microbial pathogenesis and host response that includes the tier 1 select agent pathogen Yersinia pestis. Candidate responsibilities will also include working with and training student and post-doctoral researchers, grant and manuscript preparation, some lab managerial work, and some University, Department or College committee service. In addition, candidate will be expected to be collaborative and contribute to cross-disciplinary research initiatives in emerging infectious diseases.
Minimum qualifications: PhD in microbiology, immunology or related field, and a minimum of 2 years of post-doctoral experience in microbial pathogenesis, innate immunity or related field; Preferred qualifications: at least 3 years of experience with tier 1 select agent research; strong record of productivity including research publications and presentations; Position is contingent on passing an employee background check, as well as receiving approval from the US Department of Justice, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the University of Missouri for access to tier 1 select agents.
