This program technician 2 represents OHSU Hospital as Charge Auditor and Coordinator to Insurance and Audit Companies. Coordinate the review, verification and make oral or written communications related to external third party audits. Coordinate and perform the review of patient medical records for purposes of billing and collecting. Serve as a resource person to PBS employees for billing and medical record documentation and related coding, on campus liaison (OCL). This is a FLEX position and does not carry any healthcare benefits or accrual of paid time off.
Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Management, Public Administration, or a field directly related to the position will substitute for two years of the required experience.
Five years of experience with responsibility for program or project monitoring and coordination
The experience must have included program evaluation responsibility

Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation
Recent experience reviewing medical records and hospital billings or recent clinical experience in a hospital setting (within 2 years of date of hire)
Recent Microsoft Word and Excel experience in Windows environment (within 2 years of date of hire)
Knowledge of nursing procedures and researching/accessing information a related to charges
Knowledge of Healthcare documentation conventions and requirements
Communication/negotiation skills working with nurse auditors and their companies
Ability to trace charge processes through a variety of interfaces
Identify charge/charge processing problems
Work with Integrity office on charge processing and charge criteria problems
Ability to use multiple system applications
Knowledge of third party requirements/issues
Knowledge of billing forms and processes
Ability to develop monitoring and tracking reports
Epic and its many modules including Release of Information, Epicare, Willow, etc.
Strong medical terminology
CPT, HCPC, ICD10 codes
MS Word, Excel, Outlook
