â¢ Two years of custodial experience or related building and facilities maintenance, including supervisory experience for a minimum of six months; supervision to include assigning daily work activities, inspecting and monitoring quality or work, and scheduling and coordinating work activities.
Special Required Qualifications
Additional experience in a leadership capacity. Experience supervising custodians in a university or a large scale residential setting. Experience or education which demonstrates knowledge of computer programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Computerized Maintenance Management Systems, and payroll timekeeping.
The Department of Residence at Iowa State University is accepting applications for a Supervisor â Custodian Services to provide daily supervision of assigned custodial personnel.
This position will provide monthly inspection reports for quality control of assigned custodial areas, respond to departmental custodial needs after major working hours, and communicate regularly with residence life staff and the dining service staff in the area where assigned. The Supervisor â Custodian Services will also provide assistance to the Facilities Custodial Manager in the following areas: developing work schedules, assigning work, training staff, implementing policies and procedures affecting worker safety, facility stewardship, quality of work, requisitioning materials, and managing the custodial on-call rotation.
The duties of this position require strong communication skills in order to work with staff effectively. Position will participate in on-call rotation. Overtime may also be required.
