The University of Maryland School of Medicine, Institute of Human Virology (IHV) is currently comprised of a global team of more than 500 personnel in sub-Saharan Africa. IHV is currently recruiting for a Program Specialist . The Program Specialist independently assists in the coordination of the HIV Population Based household surveys (PHIA). This position is expected to function independently, exercise discretion, and contributes to assignments and projects that require significant evaluation, originality, and ingenuity. The Program Specialist provides solutions to issues and judgment outside of pre-established guidelines or processes.

Coordinate management of and schedule delivery for program supplies, including maintaining procurement and shipment files and reports, tracking backorders, investigating alternate sources or supplies and receiving orders at UMB and ships orders to international sites.
Coordinates and manages program travel- works with travelers and executes travel hotel, visa and per diems.
Regulatory support- utilize tracking spreadsheets and email reminders to individuals who are required to complete/maintain CITI training.
Prepare financial statements, expenditures, and budgets for management or outside agencies.
Prepares or assists in preparation of grant proposal/submission for funding and funding continuation from outside sponsors for faculty in the division.
Performs other administrative duties having a significant impact on the overall goals of program.
Education: Bachelor's degree in related field.
Experience: One (1) year experience providing administrative/program support.
Other: May consider substitution of experience for minimum education requirement.
