MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The candidate for the position of Learning Environments Support Analyst must meet the following qualifications:
Bachelorâs degree in a relevant field such as computer science, computer information systems, etc., or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Two years of experience in information technology, customer service, or higher education.
THE WORK YOU WILL DO The Learning Environments Support Analyst provides specialized technical and customer service support for faculty, staff, and students in general-use classrooms and computer labs on the University Park (UPC) and Health Sciences (HSC) campuses. This role identifies, diagnoses, tests, and resolves issues with AV technologies in ITS learning spaces. The LE Support Analyst provides consultative services for faculty, staff, and students on the use of multimedia hardware and software. The LE Support Analyst contributes to the innovative solutions and customer service excellence that support the operational effectiveness of a best-in-class, leading-edge university. As a member of ITS, the LE Support Analyst demonstrates ITS values in action.
Job Accountabilities The Learning Environments Support Analyst:
Minimizes teaching and learning disruptions by managing classroom and computer lab technologies and learning spaces. Responds promptly, in person and by phone, when issues arise.
Deploys and maintains specific configuration and application sets (images) on desktop computers and loaner laptops in ITS-managed computer classrooms, labs, and information commons.
Maintains and troubleshoots computer and AV equipment, devices, and systems such as distribution amplifiers, assisted listening systems, microphone systems, projectors, controllers, etc. Maintains an inventory of all equipment.
Communicates positively and effectively with customers. Listens attentively, empathizes, and asks appropriate questions to identify customer needs and resolve issues. Shares timely information freely and openly with coworkers. Designs, writes, and edits technical user documentation. Ensures documentation is consumable by target stakeholder groups.
Minimizes repeat problems by contributing to the ITS knowledge article library. Documents metrics and outcomes to inform planning and anticipate future business needs. Follows customer response and ticketing standards and ensures all incidents and requests are documented based on ITS procedures.
Builds and maintains strong relationships with customers across campus by consistently delivering timely and flexible front-line troubleshooting and support by phone and email. Provides a consistent and best-in-class customer experience.
Supervises part-time student staff to ensure timely and effective service delivery in all customer locations.
Facilitates continuous improvement by supporting the deployment of new technologies. Identifies opportunities to improve service delivery processes and procedures. Provides clear and impactful first- and second-level guidance to technical and non-technical users.
Applies problem-solving and decision-making techniques to effectively identify and resolve customer issues. Identifies when routing to another team or escalation is needed by performing root cause analysis. Develops and executes recommended procedures for problem prevention.
Contributes to an inclusive environment that values differences by building and maintaining collaborative relationships with team members, peers, and ITS leaders. Actively embodies ITS values and behaviors including accountability, ethics, and best-in-class customer service. Contributes to a culture of trust and transparency by sharing information broadly, openly, and deliberately.
