The successful candidate for Research Technician II will have a minimum of 2 years of experience running Illumina arrays including Genome-Wide Association/Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (GWAS) arrays and DNA Methylation arrays. Running of the arrays will require experience/knowledge of the automated Illumina protocols using robotic equipment including Tecan EVO workstations, TeFlow staining stations, iScan Scanners and IlluminaLIMS as well as familiarity with the manual Illumina protocols for the arrays. In addition, the candidate will be required to handle biological specimens, including (but not limited to) preparing genomic DNA (gDNA), quantitation of gDNA, QA/QC of samples/specimens, and the utilization of associated laboratory equipment including DNA quantitation, DNA extraction/Isolation, Real-time PCR and manipulation/cherry-picking of samples using an XL20 robot or equivalent. Candidate will be required to manage time and timelines and to generate high quality data utilizing numerous techniques in many cases including automation in a diverse laboratory environment.
