The George Mason University Office of Admissions is conducting a search for a self-motivated, results-oriented individual for an Admissions Counselor position. Actively recruit and counsel prospective students (including freshman and transfer);
Evaluate undergraduate applications;
Represent the university at recruitment events;
Assist with various communications and marketing projects;
Conduct information sessions for prospective students and families;
Collaborate with other team members across the university and within the Admissions Office;
Provide excellent customer service to a diverse population; and
Overnight and possible out of state travel is required.
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
Superior written and oral communication skills;
Strong analytical skills;
Willingness to travel extensively;
Availability for evening and weekend work;
Comfortable working with diverse populations;
Ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential information and situations;
Ability to prioritize tasks in a hectic, deadline-driven environment often working on multiple tasks concurrently;
Comfortable with public speaking in large and small group situations;
Computer literacy and willingness to learn new software applications;
Proven ability to work positively as a team member;
Demonstrated customer service experience; and
Valid driver's license.
Previous experience with data analysis;
Previous experience with Ellucian Banner software;
Previous experience with Salesforce CRM;
Demonstrated experience in creating and editing digital marketing materials; and
Prior admissions or related experience.

Salary: Salary will range from the low- to mid-$30,000s and is commensurate with education and experience.
