SOFTWARE ENGINEER , Center for Transportation & Logistics , to be responsible for software development through various components of a growing data-pipeline. This will include activities such as ingestion, validation, augmentation, manipulation, querying, retrieval, and documentation. Will manage software systems for secure storage and access for hundreds of terabytes of data while providing data support for local researchers and remote sponsors; implement, modify, and work with existing preprocessing and synchronization software that prepare video and time series data for analysis by researchers; work with an existing PostgreSQL database for storing metadata and design new storage schemas and software for database integration on a per-project basis; assist with deployment, maintenance, and development of custom data acquisition equipment and data validation; generate documentation describing how to run and prepare data processing pipelines; and perform other duties as requested.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : bachelor's degree, preferably in computer science, electrical engineering, or other relevant field; at least three years of programming experience in a Linux environment using Python and/or C/C++; at least two years' experience working with database management; meticulous attention to detail; strong problem solving, time management, communication, and organization skills; and the ability to learn quickly, manage multiple priorities, and function as a team player.
