DUTIES: SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty at the Associate or Full Professor level in the Department of Medicine. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership in a dynamic and growing school to help shape the future public health curriculum, research, and practice in New York City and beyond. The role and responsibilities include: - Strengthening graduate-level training programs in public health. - Teaching graduate courses. - Contributing to existing school research and service initiatives in HIV prevention and other areas in public health, intervention development, implementation science, and technology-based research and intervention initiatives. - Mentoring masters and doctoral students. - Mentoring medical students in their research-related activities. - Providing mentorship to junior faculty in grant writing and in research practices. - Contributing to the School's vision of reducing health disparities. - Publishing high impact research in top tier journals. - Seeking and obtaining extramural funding with multi-disciplinary research teams. - Participating in, and leading, Department, School and University committees and events.
