Veterinary Clinical Lab Research Technician - (19002137)
The Department of Clinical Sciences is responsible for providing didactic and clinical training of veterinary students, conducting research pertaining to diseases of large and small animals, and providing health care services for large and small animals.
Assist veterinarians with laboratory and clinical research studies. Primary responsibilities and approximate time allocations are for sample processing, data handling, and general laboratory duties (25%), running laboratory tests (25%), assisting with clinical trials (25%), and tissue banking (25%).
* The following required knowledge and skills as typically acquired by completing a Bachelor's degree or equivalent * One year of related experience * Animal handling experience (dogs, cats, or horses) * Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) * Demonstrated ability to work independently * Strong organizational skills * Valid US driver's license * Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. without accommodation
* Experience working in a veterinary practice * Experience with working in a research and or clinical pathology lab with skill in handling solution, pipetting, PCR, ELISA, processing and shipping of blood and/or tissue samples. * Veterinary technician experience +/- certification * Strong interpersonal skills
