The Department of Biology at North Carolina A&T State University invites applications for a nine (9) month, full time, non-tenure track teaching assistant professor position in Biology. A higher rank might be considered for qualified candidates. The initial appointment of the position is two years and it is eligible for renewal.
The primary duties and responsibilities for this position include teaching undergraduate level courses, conducting tutoring and supplemental instruction, and student advising. Engagement in recruitment, curriculum development and conducting scholarly activities are also expected. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, serving on committees, engaging in program assessment and service to the department, College, and University as needed.
Administrative duties and responsibilities include collaborative work with faculty to improve programs, develop new programs, and extracurricular opportunities, such as internships; serve as coordinator of multiple section courses, chair committees; assist with recruitment, or serve as advisers to student organizations.

The Department of Biology has more than four hundred (500) enrolled undergraduate and over twenty-five (25) enrolled master's students. It also enrolls several PhD students under the newly approved PhD program in Applied Science and Technology. The Department of Biology currently has fourteen (14) tenured or tenure-track faculty members. The Department of Biology's mission is to educate students to become competent, competitive, and confident leaders who excel in global scientific community. PhD from a reputable institution in social science or humanities. Preferably At least 3 years' experience teaching.
Proficiency in online learning software. (e.g., Blackboard, OneNote, etc.) Strong communication skills required to transfer the knowledge to the student body.

Commitment to general education biology instruction, high-quality customer services, and student success initiatives.
