This is a 45-week position (Late July through early June).
The mission of Residence Life at Spring Arbor University is to guide students' growth through meaningful relationships with God and others in a purposeful living/learning community.
The primary duty of the Resident Director (RD) is to be responsible for the overall management, administration and operation of one or more residential area(s). He/She is part of the Office of Student Development and Success (SDS) and is responsible to foster an environment that encourages students to grow spiritually, emotionally, academically, relationally, and physically.
Spring Arbor University (SAU) believes in whole-person education. RDs accomplish this through intentional relationships with Resident Assistants (RAs) and residents, knowledgeable referral to other campus services, and programming in SAU's residence areas. RDs also perform a variety of roles within SDS that are not related directly to residence life. An important part of the RD position is a ministry that requires consistent availability and frequent visibility.
Bachelor's degree required, Masters preferred.
Residence life experience preferred.
Must have a ministry mindset and the ability to work well with a wide variety of people.
Must be skilled in written and verbal communication.
