Bachelors Degree in related field required. Masters Degree is preferred. Four years of experience in advising fraternities or sororities on a college or university campus or other related experience. Previous experience working with multiple councils and multicultural fraternities is desirable. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of education.
Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties:
Performs highly advanced and complex managerial duties for Greek Life in the Office of the Dean of Students.
Primary Responsibilities (Staff Positions Only):
Provides comprehensive advising leadership to more than 30 social Greek-letter organizations, Interfraternity Council, Multicultural Greek Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council, Panhellenic Association, and the Greek honor society Order of Omega. Develops and maintains educational workshop series for Greek students focusing on leadership, chapter development, wellness programs, risk management, risk-reduction education, community service initiatives, and membership recruitment. Serves as a liaison to international and national offices, chapter advisors, faculty advisors, housing corporations, alumni, and members of the University community. Advises the coordination of formal and informal fraternity and sorority recruitment efforts. Oversees data collection and database management for fraternities and sororities. Maintains active and current records on membership, conduct matters, retention, and scholastic achievement of all Greek-letter organizations. Assists the Associate Dean with the coordination and oversight of Greek traditional events, including Greek Week, the Greek Awards program and Bearkat Bolt 5K. Serves as a member of the Dean of Students Office department leadership team providing support to other areas within Dean of Students Office. Assists in the planning and coordination of University traditions such as Bearkat Family Weekend and Homecoming. Helps manage the University's Greek standards. Creates public relations (PR) and marketing content related to the Greek life office in the forms of booklets, pamphlets, videos, etc. Responsible for all office related social media accounts. Acts as a student advocate, providing personal advice and appropriate referrals to students seeking assistance. Performs other related duties as assigned.
