Position Summary: University of California (UC) Health provides leadership and strategic direction for UC's five academic medical Centers and 19 health professional schools. UC Health supports various initiatives at individual campuses and development of systemwide initiatives, promoting collaboration among the university's health professional schools and providing oversight on the business and financial activities of the clinical enterprise. UC Health is comprised of five academic medical centers.
The University of California Office of the President (UCOP) is looking for a Clinical Initiatives Program Manager to work to advance and support multiple strategic system-wide initiatives through project management, material development as well as the functional role of facilitator and moderator. This person will also facilitate healthcare projects toward the implementation of clinically related performance improvement initiatives to benefit patients, improve clinical outcomes, generate cost savings and achieve greater efficiencies within the UC Health clinical enterprise. As an integral member of a small team, the incumbent supports and outlines strategies and best practices which have been empirically validated. This will role will collaboratively with other UC Health Staff to share information and advance leadership priorities. This position will report to the Vice President for Health Sciences and will monitor and track progress of projects.

Provides complex project analysis and support for the development and implementation of data-driven, system-wide quality functions, including:
Independently researching, collecting, analyzing and developing project materials and accompanying methodologies to monitor process measures/outputs of system-wide clinical care initiatives;
Building strong relationships and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams within the UC Health Clinical Enterprise (and outside affiliates as directed);
Leverages in-depth knowledge of system-wide medical centers and affiliates to support critical quality improvement programs;
Recommends solutions to organizational program issues, including developing and administering new systems, processes or programs;
Supports planning with senior leaderships and helps develop complex proposals and recommendations;
Researches and summarizes best practices in field across a spectrum of clinical operations programs, policies and initiatives.
Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training; minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
Advanced project management skills.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of common organization-specific computer applications such as excel and health related databases, such as UHC/Vizient to accomplish complex data analyses. Ability to learn and access new databases and datasets as necessary.
Advanced communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and influence, both verbally and in writing; strong presentation skills.
Proven ability to manage and prioritize projects in environments containing multiple facilities and/or affiliates. Demonstrated exceptional project management skills.
Proven ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes. Well-organized, ability to manage multiple projects at once.
Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
Demonstrated experience building collaborations across diverse groups including faculty and staff.
Advanced understanding/skill in data collection and analysis techniques; knowledge of organizational principles and procedures in handling sensitive data.
Ability to travel to attend professional meetings or conferences.
Advanced knowledge of the organization, including its processes, protocols, procedures, goals, mission, guidelines, et cetera.
Ability to adapt to changing organizational priorities of the UC Health clinical enterprise. Required
Master's Degree in Health-related field preferred.
