The George Mason University Student Centers (SC) seeks an Office Manager for the administrative office. The Office Manager reports to the Associate Director of Building Services and Program Development. This position supervises four to six hourly wage student Office Assistants. Duties include:
Student Centers HR Liaison (Student and Part-Time Wages):
Complete the Human Resources Liaison Certificate Program;
Coordinate the process for recruiting, selecting, and hiring of part-time and student hourly wage positions through the Mason Handshake student employment database;
Keep all student files and records organized, and track student changes in status and payroll.
Central Office Administration:
Provide daily customer service support, desk coverage and supervision of office student staff;
Provide oversight and tracking for the Office Assistant Trello board with documenting reservations, SC policies, issues/complaints, and important information to customer service.
Track and manage Central Office supplies and equipment (including business cards, office copy card, printer/copy paper, etc.);
Manage the front office cash register system, and serve as the organization/fund officer on record responsible for the cash management and credit card processing;
Serve as TouchNet Administrator, responsible for the setup and maintenance of the online store, tracking financial reports and transactions within the system.
Student Center Services:
Coordinate Hire Mason kiosk semester events (invitations to vendors, booking kiosks, collecting and processing payment, assessing vendor feedback, etc.)
High school diploma or equivalent;
Experience with administrative processes and a strong customer service orientation, preferably in an academic setting;
Desire to work with students, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds;
Internet/e-mail and database systems;
Experience maintaining an office;
Ability to organize and multitask proficiently;
Ability to work independently and make judgment decisions;
Possess excellent writing, editing, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills;
Must possess a positive and professional attitude.
Knowledge of the Ellucian Banner system;
A bachelor's degree related to management, accounting, purchasing or supply chain management.
The anticipated salary for this position is $35,000-$42,000 (not to exceed $42,000). Work schedule hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (there is no flexibility with days or hours).
Salary: $35,000 to $42,000; commensurate with experience.
