UW Medical Center - Northwest has an outstanding opportunity for an NIGHT SHIFT, PART TIME (0.6 FTE), OPERATING ROOM/OR ASSISTANT. The OR/ED Assistant is responsible for assisting with room turnover, housekeeping duties in the assigned area of the operating room, transportation of patients, and transport of specimens.
Assists in cleaning and preparing surgical suite, assists in establishing par levels for ancillary supplies, checks linen supply and sub-sterile stock regularly and orders as necessary
Transports patients, assists with re-positioning and/or transfer of patients, delivers specimens to the appropriate destination, and transports blood products
Demonstrates knowledge and appropriate use of sterile/aseptic technique, infection control plans, preparation and usage of chemicals
Minimizes patients’ safety risks by following defined protocols and policies, lifts, positions, and transfers patients, ensures safety of the patient in the environment
Assists with emergency management as instructed (drills, emergencies, rapid response, codes, etc.)
High school graduate or GED equivalent
Certified Nursing Assistant license for the State of Washington preferred
Intraoperative experience as an aide or orderly, or hospital housekeeping experience preferred
