Rider University's Division of Academic Affairs seeks an Institutional Research Analyst to serve as a liaison and primary point of contact between Academic Affairs and Office of Information Technology Business Analysts in meeting the data and reporting needs of the division. The position works closely with staff in the offices of the Provost, Registrar and Deans, as well as with department chairs and faculty. The position reports to the Director of Institutional Research in the Provost's Office. Specifically, the successful candidate will: identify and research data quality within the Institutional Factbook, ensuring that data records and portals are correctly displayed; work closely with the IT Business Analysts to eliminate errors and produce greater efficiencies in the storage and integrity of university-wide data, specifically for Academic Affairs-related data (student records); and serve as informational and training resource to staff members across campus in basic reporting concepts. This position will also be asked to respond to a select number of external surveys for the University and ensure accuracy and timeliness of the University's responses.
The successful candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree or any comparable combination of related education and experience with at least 2 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in education. Individual must also possess: knowledge of data query and reporting; working knowledge of business intelligence tools; experience/knowledge of data dictionaries, institutional factbooks, and data dashboards; superior organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills; and excellent communication skills. A working knowledge of Banner, SQL, and/or SPSS, as well as a strong interest in institutional research and academic analyses is preferred.
