The Textbook Services Manager is responsible for administering and managing Textbook Services to provide learning resources to students in all formats that support the UW-River Falls curriculum. This position establishes and implements policies and procedures to allow for effective operation of the Textbook Services' rental and resale operations; administers the annual budget; manages purchasing, accounting, licensing, and inventory control for all of Textbook Services' instructional materials; and supervises staff and manages all departmental personnel functions.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated knowledge of the book trade industry, including present and emerging instructional content delivery methods that affect the industry
Demonstrated knowledge of budgeting and strategic planning processes
Strong public service commitment
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Able to lift boxes weighing up to 40 lbs
Ability to successfully pass a Post-Offer Pre-Employment Screen
The following are considered assets:
Experience with acquisition of instructional materials
Managerial and supervisory experience
Experience with an online inventory control system
