Assistant Director, LLM Student Academic Affairs & Assessments for the Antonin Scalia Law School located at the Arlington, VA., campus.
The Antonin Scalia Law School at George Mason University is searching for an energetic person with a background in law or higher education counseling who would enjoy working with and advising a diverse group of students seeking specialized training in law. The Assistant Director will work with Scalia Law's LLM students from start to finish – providing admissions, advising, and academic assistance. The Assistant Director will also assume responsibility for tracking assessments and learning outcomes for the LLM students within the law school's LLM programs. The Assistant Director will report to and work most closely with the Director Student Academic Affairs. The Assistant Director will also work closely with both the Director of Graduate Studies and the Associate Dean for Administration & Student Affairs.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Manage admission of on-line LLM students in conjunction with our online partner Wiley and its subcontractor iLaw/BarBri;
Provide academic advising to LLM students, including but not limited to counseling for incoming students, providing progress reports for students, collaboration with law school Records Office regarding LLM student registration, and responding to students on an on-going basis;
Provide academic assistant to LLM student, including but not limited to guidance with course work, hosting sessions on preparing for/taking exams, coordinating lap top exam training with the Records Office, conducting academic success session;
Assist with new residential LLM student orientation as requested;
Coordinate and oversee mentoring programs for LLM students;
Offer bar support and guidance to LLM students;
Assist with course scheduling and registration for LLM students;
Manage assessments and learning outcomes for the law school's various LLM programs.
JD (or international equivalent LLB) or 5+ years higher education student counseling experience;
A global mindset with cross-cultural, clear communication skills;
Familiarity with US law school curricula;
Familiarity with US bar examination requirements;
Demonstrated skills in mentoring and/or counseling;
Familiarity with assessments and learning outcomes.
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.
