The Procurement Contracting & Payment Services at West Virginia University is seeking applications for a Category Analyst position. The p rimary role of the Category Analyst include supporting development of strategic sourcing category/commodity strategies, assisting in execution against those strategies, and ensuring that assigned staff properly manage commodities and support stakeholder/supplier requests. The analyst will also effectively partner with the Category Manager to ensure that the greatest value is realized for them spend.
In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:
A ssist in sourcing efforts beginning with spend analysis through contract execution
Identify and lead sourcing and procurement process improvement efforts
Correctly apply Strategic Sourcing best practice processes
Oversee supplier management program for assigned categories / commodities
Attend/assist in supplier performance reviews
Lead efforts to create SLA's with preferred supplier/stakeholder
Lead and encourage cross-BU collaboration through sourcing and supplier management teams
Facilitate stakeholder meetings to assess needs and identify issues/document issues
Recognize, document and accurately resolve sourcing and procurement related operational issues (invoice allocation, vendor payment issues, etc.)
Work Hours: Monday-Friday; 8:15 a.m.-4:45 p.m.

Bachelors' degree in Finance, Supply Chain, or similar related field
At least 6 months of experience in procurement, supply chain, or related field of expertise
ISM or similar certification desired
Understands, adheres to, and ensures correct application of company's supplier diversity program requirements
Understands and correctly applies total cost of ownership (TCO) principles
Knowledge of industry leading Procure to Pay (P2P) process
Can apply knowledge of demand management and use appropriately within a P2P environment (e.g., inventory management and order timing)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
